Nonprofits have unique challenges and compliance requirements that necessitate leaders devoted to the mission and making a difference. In this series, we will explore the vital leadership roles and responsibilities of nonprofit governance.

Encouraging Excellence in Governance Transitions

Building a healthy and effective board takes time and effort.  As members complete their terms and new members are welcomed, adopting strategies to integrate new members while fostering ongoing excellence is critical.

Class size is limited to the first 15 registrants.

Learning Objectives

  1. Assess the essential interrelationship of governance, internal controls, fraud prevention, and business risks
  2. Explore the role of essential policies and procedures


Melodi Bunting, CPA, CMA, CGMA, Training and Career Development Manager at Wegner CPAs, develops and coordinates effective internal and external training opportunities, and constructs a career development plan for each staff member of the Assurance department. Additionally, Melodi works with the audit team performing audits and tax return preparation for a number of different tax-exempt organizations. Melodi annually attends continuing professional education seminars on accounting, auditing, compliance, and tax issues.
