Do you have a family member or know a child with disabilities?  If you do, then you know the daily challenges these families face.  At Wegner CPAs, we have a division called FW Consulting – DHFS that serves as a Fiscal Agent for families and care providers.

The FW Consulting – DHFS fiscal agent program provides administrative services for the Wisconsin CLTS (Children’s Long-Term Support) Program.  This program services families of children with long-term disabilities or complex medical needs so they can remain living in their home and community.  It also provides children and their families the opportunity to live their best lives.  Three major areas of support are:

  • Respite care -Respite care for loved ones provides short-term breaks for caregivers that can relieve their stress, renew their energy and restore a sense of balance to their lives.
  • Daily Living Skills – Most people engage in their daily life skills automatically, with little thought. For children with challenges, learning life skills such as self-care, cooking, money management, shopping, room organization, and transportation help them lead a healthy, fulfilling life.
  • Physical Aids – Items such as hearing aids, wheelchairs, specially designed software and hardware, can be truly life enhancing by helping them do more, experience more, and build on their abilities.

Our team of fiscal agent specialists simplifies payroll processing and taxes making it worry-free for families with children that have long term care needs.  Our team also monitors and reconciles each child’s budget to ensure the children’s providers are paid in full and on time.  When providers are paid promptly for their services, they continue to provide much needed care to the children and their families.

We currently work with 24 Wisconsin Counties and in total, our program assists over 1100 children and over 2000 providers.  We process payroll semi-monthly and payout an average of $360,000 per payroll.

This team within Wegner CPAs takes great pride in the service we provide and the impact we’ve had on thousands of individuals.
