Steve Kleiss is a senior accountant in Wegner CPA's Assurance Department. He joined the firm in June 2009 working primarily on audits of employee benefit plans. Steve has four years of experience auditing various types of employee benefit plans, banks and non-profits, including three years at a large accounting firm. In addition to his enthusiasm for great client relationships, Steve enjoys helping clients improve their financial, compliance and control systems in a manner that is realistic and achievable.

Steve's career in public accounting has given him extensive experience in ERISA audits of all types including health and welfare, defined benefit, and publicly traded company plans. Prior to working in public accounting he worked in banking with responsibility for setting up systems and personal banking. This experience has given him a very deep background in compliance with government rules and the implementation and evaluation of internal control systems.

Steve received his Bachelor of Arts from the University ofWisconsin - Stevens Point and his Master of Business Adminstration from Edgewood College. Steve is currently working to pass the CPA exam.
