Did you know that there are 7 ways to
search within QuickBooks?
|
#1
- Registers
QuickBooks has a register for every account on your balance sheet. If
you go to Banking, then 'Use Register', you will have the option to
select the account register you want to search in, choose the account
from the drop down, and then choose 'OK'
Once the register appears, then you can choose the 'Go To' option and
choose the field you want to search in.
This is an expanded version of the Go To previously mentioned in method
#1. Choose Edit, and then Find, or simply press Ctrl-F and the find
option will appear. You can search based on types listed in the
screen shot below.
Choose the transaction type from the list, and then complete the
additional fields. If you do not know all of the field information,
it will search based on what you have entered.
Once
the list appears on the screen, you can then double click on the
transaction to view it, click the report button to further refine the
results, or click the export button which will export the results to a
CSV file or Excel spreadsheet.
#3
- Advanced Find
This
feature is similar to the simple find method, but has many more criteria
options to search on. You can choose one criteria or dozens. To use
this feature, click on Edit, Find (Ctrl-F), and then the Advanced Tab.
Once
you have the Advanced find screen, you then can choose the filter or
filters that you want to search. Once you hit the search button and
the results display, you have the same options as in method #2.
