Wegner LLP, CPAs & Consultants has been providing sound, professional services in accounting, auditing, tax, financial and management consulting for over 50 years.

Robert E. Wegner started the firm in Madison , Wisconsin , in October 1949 as a sole proprietorship. In 1960, the Robert E. Wegner and Associates partnership was formed by Robert E. Wegner and Edward J. Wojtal. Gilbert W. Schlimgen became a Partner in 1963. Rick Welsch joined the partnership in 1983 and served as managing partner from 1988 until the fall of 2002.

In 1986 two more partners were added when the accounting firm of Dave Muehl and Greg LaFreniere merged with Wegner and Associates. After 10 years of service, Scott Haumersen joined the partnership in 1991 and is now Managing Partner. In the fall of 2002, senior managers Pete Oettinger and Glenn Miller joined the partnership. Glenn serves as partner-in-charge of the Assurance Department. Pete serves as the partner-in charge of our Baraboo office.

The Baraboo practice of Fishkin & Horman , S.C. was acquired in 1997, adding 15 associates to the Wegner team and bringing several additional services to our Sauk County clients. In November 2004, Wegner LLP, CPAs & Consultants opened up an office in the Milwaukee area located in Waukesha, Wisconsin. In January 2007 Bruce Mayer joined the partnership in the Assurance Department.

Over fifty years later, professional and personal attention remains the foundation of Wegner LLP, CPAs & Consultants. We realize that as our clients' businesses grow and change, we must also adapt to support their growth. Today, Wegner LLP, CPAs & Consultants is led by Haumersen, Welsch, LaFreniere, Muehl, Miller, Oettinger, and Mayer.
